The State of Scottish Football
Having finished work, and settling down to read all the days sport on the lap top, I happened across the following result.

Boreham Wood 0-0 Dunfermline (Dunfermline win 6-5 on pens).

My first instinct was that this was a friendly whilst the International games were ongoing this weekend. Then I read a little closer, and its actually the Scottish Challenge Cup. Im not sure if its the Scots version of the League (Carabao) Cup, Johnstone Paint Trophy or whatever.

Regardless of what competition this is, over the last 20 or so years Dunfermline have been regulars in the Scottish Premiership, so to only sneak past an English 6th tier team on pens really does hit home at just how poor their teams are.

I had to double take when I saw the scores coming through on Saturday - thought the sporting life vidiprinter had fucked up.

There was one English FA Cup game once that was contested by two Scottish clubs....was over 100 years ago now though....Hearts were one of the two teams.

Nottingham Forest are the only English club to have faced Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish opponents in the FA Cup.

Astra weren't part-timers and were competitive in their own top tier (winning it in 2015-6).

Why make our double defeat to them even worse?

Erm, is everyone alright then that for the last 46 years I have firmly believed Boreham Wood to be in Hertfordshire while it clearly is actually somewhere in Ross and Cromarty??

WHY THE FUCK ARE THEY PLAYING IN THIS COMPETITION???

Almost as bad as a Premier league team getting knocked out of the Europa Cup, not once but TWICE by some tin pot bunch of part timers from Romania.

Oh!..........

They have a series of play off and only the worst team is considered bad enough to go into the scottish cup. I think.

Erm, I think you miss the biggest elephant in the room? Namely why the FUCK are Boreham Wood playing in the Scottish Challenge Cup?!

The fact that (cunt of a club) Celtic rule supreme up there tells you all you need to know about how shit the standard is up there.
